Mastering the new Consciousness.

Mastering the new Consciousness  ©2017 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

We have already shifted to a new level of Consciousness, it's just that not all of our bodies and personalities have come up to speed.

For one thing, reality looks the same. For another thing, reality feels completely different.

And in this new reality, many old paradigms no longer work.

Like when you upgrade your operating system, you have to upgrade much of your software.

In fact, most of the old ways of operating are now defunct. You can't apply the old rules of power in this new reality. Your energetic engine has changed. Gasoline doesn't work in your Tesla.

Your ego may value being an expert. It may value being the know it all, having all the answers, being better than and smarter than.

Yet in this new Consciousness, approaching things with a bigger's mind is far more powerful. All the answers are available to you, you just don't have to carry it around in your hard drive any more.

Power looks different as Consciousness. It's inner power. It has clarity and a sense of well being.

There isn't any competitive energy, because there's the awareness that *everyone* is whole, capable, and Conscious.

Everyone, at their core, is Consciousness. Everyone is equally powerful. As we each grow in this awareness, there is more interconnectedness. There's more teamwork. There's networking. There's interdependence and independence at the same time.

Having more stuff doesn't carry any weight in this new awareness. In fact, heaviness has no place here. There's no density nor effort.

At some point of development, manifestation becomes instantaneous. And, the urge to manifest, the urgency, is gone. It's all about creativity. This world is a fun playground.

Conscious evolution happens in waves, there's always individuals on the leading edge, bringing new information into form.

If you're reading this, you're one of them. You wouldn't be drawn to this article if you weren't.

While the rest are coming up to speed, it may feel lonely at first. It may feel like people don't understand you or where you are at. That's just the old patterns playing out, dissipating.

If you notice anything that "makes you feel" frustrated, powerful, reactive, rebellious, resentful, resistant - you are bumping up against old paradigm patterns.

Nothing is more powerful than You. That becomes apparent when you shift your perspective to seeing yourself *as* Consciousness, creating your reality, through this physical form, in this hologram, this game called life on this playground called earth.

You don't have to go out there to change, fix or manipulate anything. As you navigate as Consciousness, reality starts to reorganize around you.

That doesn't mean you can't choose to respond to what is showing up in your reality. Maybe you feel like making a phone call and expressing your views or requesting an action. Maybe you feel like going out to stand or walk with people who share your interests.

But you're coming from an empowered space, and responding to what is. It feels different to engage in the world this way.

Mastering the new Consciousness means acquiring proficiency with the new skills of navigating reality that is manifesting with a higher vibrational frequency than we've ever experienced before.

Really, it's Consciousness mastering the new physical reality.

We're going from wading at the bottom of the ocean, where our bodies felt like deep sea divers suits, to not-quite-astronauts in zero gravity on the space station. In zero gravity, force propels things away from you, or you away from what you're going for. It's a more subtle way of moving through the world.

As you move through your world this week, notice what is different. Take the time to shift your awareness and view things differently. Make different choices and responses.

Try this for the next seven days, and see how your life transforms!

What do you people WANT?!?

What do you people WANT?!? ©2015 Joan M. Newcomb

A couple months ago I organized an event on Vashon Island, to serve a small group there.  I was excited because I was bringing people from Seattle to help and I felt it would be a big support for the islanders.

Everyone had agreed on the day, and I had to jump through a few hoops to reach out to the Seattle folks, who essentially had to take 6 hours out of their day, plus ferry fares, to do 2 hours of community outreach. I do this nearly every Saturday, coming from Tacoma, but I lived on Vashon for nearly 30 years, so it's a different experience for me.
What we think we need

It turned out to be a wonderful experience, the Seattle folks were enchanted by the island, which was lovely to see.

However, half the folks on the island didn't show up. One person, eager for the support, came from Gig Harbor, to receive the information.

What happened?

Maybe they didn't want it? Maybe they didn't know what they were missing. Clearly, it was my idea (but not their idea) to help move them forward.

One of the Seattleites said, "Maybe they don't know what they're missing. Maybe when they want it bad enough, they'll come to Seattle for it."

Yeah, maybe. I was trying to establish a support group on Vashon, so I felt the event needed to happen on Vashon. Which was entirely my agenda.

Maybe the folks on Vashon need to learn to go to Seattle (or Tacoma) for support; it's what I had to do when I got started.

But here's the bigger picture: when you are trying to achieve your goals, when you are going for what you really want, shit comes up.

You get scared, you get mad, you get resistant, you get judgemental, you get critical. You hide, you space it out, you oversleep, you overschedule. You tell yourself stories about what's going on, about yourself, about others.  You ______ (Fill in the blank).

In short, everything that's keeping you from getting what you want.

You may be so overwhelmed, you don't even *know* what you really need. If you are struggling with basic life issues, you may not have enough clarity to have a clear picture of what you truly want.

When you're stuck on the hamster wheel, all you can think about is getting off the wheel. You can't imagine what's possible for you.

Of course, you may want to get off the hamster wheel and rest!  But the hamster wheel has exercised your muscles to take you forward on your life (it just won't require as much effort).

Interconnectedness

Interconnectedness ©2014 Joan Newcomb

An aging teacher tired of his student's complaints. One day, he sent him to get some salt. When the student returned, the teacher told him to mix a handful of salt in a glass of water and then drink it.

“How does it taste?” the teacher asked.

“Bitter,” said the student.

The teacher then asked the student to take a handful of salt and toss it in the lake. Then the old teacher said, “Now drink from the lake.”

The teacher asked, “How does it taste?”

“Fresh,” said the student.

“Do you taste the salt?” asked the teacher.

“No,” said the student. The teacher explained gently:

“The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain remains exactly the same. But the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container. When you are in pain, all you need do is enlarge your awareness. Stop being a glass. Become a lake.”

I'd take this a step further and say that the pain of life IS exactly the same, we are tasting the same salt that that others are tasting.  If we contain it within our bodies, it will feel overwhelming.  If we release it back to the Cosmic Sea, we gain compassion and awareness.

We're Consciousness experiencing individuality.  Our bodies are transmitters and receivers.  We have our reactions to events, but we also draw from the pool of lower emotions. When we operate from Consciousness, we can choose what we transmit.

The Buddhist bodhichitta mediation practice has one breathing in the world's misery and breathing out loving-kindness.

In other words, you can use your body as a transformer of lower vibrations into higher vibrations.

This only works if you're already grounded and cleared, otherwise you're just swimming in pond scum.

You can tell when you're experiencing your own body's emotions, from when you're experiencing the collective discomfort.  Your own feelings have clarity, when you're feeling other's feelings, it's overwhelming.  Toss their salt back into the sea.

It's easy to get caught up in collective events, people coming together to protest, people reacting to a natural (or man-made) disaster.   We're naturally compassionate, we respond to other's sadness.  But we can't help others if we're drowning ourselves.

There's another practice where you quietly turn within and emanate Love.  You don't have to transmute other's feelings for this one.  In fact, in filling your energy field with this higher vibration, you de-energize any lower frequencies of your own that you're holding on to.

This helps bring light into the world, and gives others the opportunity to match a higher vibration.  It helps Consciousness evolve.

We don't need to eliminate all uncomfortable feeling responses, that just numbs us and misses the point of being in a body.  When you expand your awareness, feelings wash through you.  Discomfort still exists, and you're holding a bigger space.

We're all capable, Infinite Beings.  We are at choice.  Be the Ocean.
