Our Crazing Is Beautiful

Our Crazing Is Beautiful ©2018 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

I came across a word the other day:

Crazing: cracks that occur in ceramics, usually with overlying glaze. A similar effect is found in glassware, called crackle glass.

And I thought it a great metaphor for what happens to us as we interact with the external world.

We come out as whole and pure. We are bright, shining lights of Consciousness in a chubby body that can’t yet roll over, much less walk or talk.

We are also treasure chests of information and possibilities. Each one of us is Consciousness expressing in form, and as Consciousness we already know and have everything we need to make real all that we wish to create in this life.

Yet prior to birth we are glazed with the expectations and assumptions from the body that contained us and the bodies that surrounded us. The glaze thickened after we emerged from the projections of culture and society.

Crazing occurs when you attempt to expand beyond all these limits.

You feel like something is wrong with you because the inner you doesn’t match the outer imposed identity. It starts to crack as you as Consciousness grow to fulfill your potential.

You feel crazy when you realize your Truth is different than the stories told you by family and school.

The world looks crazy to you when you stand in integrity with your Truth. You see so many others operating out of alignment with their essential selves as Consciousness.

However, when you look at ceramics, you can see beauty in crazing. Just as uniquely beautiful as the wrinkled face of an older person.

In ceramics, crazing can precede fracture, which can destroy the piece (or transmute it into another art form). Yet crackle glass is highly prized and collectable.

This world is one of polarities and filled with dichotomies. It is a creation of Consciousness to experience the opposite of what Consciousness is, which is unity, joyousness, wisdom, timeless and formless.

It is meant to be an experience of density and effort. And at the same time we can move through the world easily and without resistance, if we maintain our awareness as Consciousness.

When we see our life as Consciousness, we can be amused by the insanity around us. We can fully appreciate being in form and being beyond form at the same time.

As Consciousness we love our body-personality, and we love our life. We play in our storyline with curiosity and wonder.

Shift your perspective to Consciousness, and you'll see the beauty in your crazing as well.

Reality, Insanity, and Truth

Reality, Insanity and Truth ©2018 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

Maybe this blog post should be entitled arguing with reality. The news this week was insane. Stories of breastfeeding babies being torn away from their immigrant mothers, thousands of children being held in dog pens in warehouses; I hit bottom.

I’ve struggled to observe it all from neutral. From the perspective of greater Consciousness, what is really going on? Everyone at their essence is infinite and immensely powerful. There is greater Light coming into the world, it is illuminating the darkness, but it also means the darkness is going away.

Yeah, fuck that shit. It was already pretty bad but now toddlers and infants, that’s over the line.

What’s in the process of disintegrating is all the old power structures, and all the old attitudes that limit or define anyone as more than or less than. We’re all Consciousness, we’re all omnipotent.

And those who cling to those old ways of being are experiencing the most discomfort, because their reality is dissipating. They’re the ones freaking out and going insane.

Where’s the last bastion of this paradigm? Washington, DC, my home town. So what we’re seeing are extreme behaviors, extreme actions, being taken to maintain the illusion of power. And it seems so destructive, because it is. It’s reflecting the distruction they’re feeling within.

You know, I don’t really care what the higher reasons are. I just want it to stop NOW.

This world is a marvelously complex creation of Consciousness, with an endless supply of storylines. We are all Consciousness, we are all God Within. Other people are other aspects of Consciousness. People aren’t our reflections, they're real people not just mirrors or Westworld characters. But what we see or feel is usually in ourselves. If there wasn't a matching resonance, we wouldn't notice it or they wouldn't be there.

So even uncomfortable situations we've attracted, or we observe, are an indicator of what is shifting or changing within us.

SO WHAT’S GOING ON INSIDE? Everything within me that reacts to things that are unjust, that wants to fight against white male dominance, has also been disempowering myself. Where I have been restricting my own freedom?

The old paradigm was that dominance was power, and yet it's energetically weak. Power outside is the least powerful. Trying to control or change other people, whether it's trying to keep them out of the country or economically or educationally challenged, is the actions of those who don't feel strong themselves. And yet, trying to fight them, to control or change them, puts us into a weak position, it's using the same energy to create a different outcome.

Operating at a higher level of Consciousness, the rules are different. You can’t manifest by manipulating the hologram. You can only change by shifting from within, shifting yourself.

So how do we stop this insanity? Because if I withdraw (ever fiber of my being wants to go back to being a mystic in the woods), if I turn of Twitter (my source of on-the-ground news, and hence my window into the madness in the world), am I not being in denial? Am I turning a blind eye to people who need help?

I CAN’T DRIVE TO TEXAS AND THROW THEM IN A MINI VAN. And I don't speak Spanish, so I can't go up to SeaTac and help the parents (that have been brought to Washington State for some bizarre reason).

I can participate in a General Strike, as an introvert I don't go on marches and gave up on phone calls but I can protest with my wallet.

But really, as a Mystic, I can shift the energy within, I can collapse the internal power structures, I can step into a parallel universe where this is unfolding differently. I can two-point to where the outcome is already different.

When I relax, step back from the story, I can see and feel the Truth. I'm in agreement with what is (okay, I'm getting there).

I invite everyone to do this for themselves. Because if we collectively reclaim our power, this can instantly change.

I'm excited to see what happens!

(If you're new to my work and want to know how to do these things, read more of my blog and go to my website for coaching on Consciousness Techniques).

Acceptance Is Not Surrender, Ceding or Giving In

Acceptance Is Not Surrender, Ceding or Giving In ©2016 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

There's a popular prayer that starts by asking for the serenity to accept the things you cannot change.
It's a powerful statement. You are accepting what is, but not agreeing to it.

In accepting the situation, you are acknowledging the reality of it. You are not in denial that it is happening, you are not avoiding the reality. You are actually standing in your own power, while being powerless over other's behavior or external circumstances.

Acceptance allows you to take action, to respond rather than react. You can make better choices when you're not reacting.

Now, there's also an aspect of Surrender that doesn't mean ceding your power, or giving in. It means you are not resisting the dominating energy. When you resist, you become rigid, you get stuck. You actually attract what you're resisting.  In non-resistance, the negative energy passes through. You can weave around it. It dissipates.

A few years ago I was in a situation that was intolerable. I was powerless over the outcome. I was powerless over other people's behavior.

Others might have said, but you could have talked to them about it. This was your opportunity to speak out.

I did not waste energy fighting it or trying to change them. I placed principles before personalities. I focused on the bigger picture. I remained in integrity with my core values.

I was there to do something no one else could do, I brought my awareness of Consciousness to the situation. What unfolded was greater than what anyone there could acknowledge.

And so it is.

You may be going home for the holidays and dreading becoming enmeshed in the dysfunctional family patterns. You might be avoiding certain relatives because of painful memories.

You could be distracted by the news, by the current insanity in politics. You could be outraged by people's refusal to be involved, or general unconsciousness.

You cannot change, fix, or manipulate the world outside yourself without getting entangled in it. You can detach, by stepping back emotionally.

You can accept that most people aren't operating at optimal awareness. Most people are playing out invisible programming.

When you can see that and not resist it, you reclaim your energy from it.

You start to see the world through a different lens. You might actually be amused by it.

We have been through dark times before. There is too much light in the world nowadays.

The sun is more powerful than the night.

Stand in your own sunlight, shine in your own truth, and see how that transforms your life!
