Sand Mandalas and Spiritual Evolution

Sand Mandalas and Spiritual Evolution ©2018 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

Yesterday I had the most amazing experience. I sat down and used Garage Band to record and edit a training that I'm offering on a Global Telesummit in a couple weeks. The thing is, I've had Garage Band on my laptop since 2011 (yes, it's the same laptop, just with a new battery and hard drive), but I've never used it. When I first got it, the technology of Garage Band was way over my head.

But yesterday it was a breeze. But that's because I've been recording and editing my YouTube videos for the last five years. Compared with video, audio is a breeze. It was thrilling.

When I had the recording complete, I decided to add music to it, and something happened. I don't know what, but the entire recording disappeared. An entire afternoon's work vanished.

I spent another hour trying to reproduce what I'd done to no avail (I had an outline but most of what I had talked about was improvised). I went from having the most productive day in months to... pffft.

What's happening? It's not Mercury Retrograde, for Pete's Sake.

My Buddhist husband would say that it's a lesson in the impermanence of life. And there's something to that, because life does seem like a sand mandala sometimes. You spend all this time creating a reality, nurturing relationships, and then it all dissipates in the blink of an eye.

The more you try to hold on to your creations, the less you seem to have them.

What have I learned (besides making sure you save your work, especially in antiquated programs that don't automatically do it for you)?

One thing that I know is that life is not a school and these situations aren't "lessons". They're experiences. They can be redirects. And as I'm writing I also realize that the subject that I'm working on is an upgrade of a course I offered two years ago.

Old techniques don't work any more. Or, they work as well as dialup does for accessing today's internet. Perhaps yesterday's erasure ensures that today's recording will be more up to date?

Here's the other thing that I know, the more I operate as Consciousness in form, the more improvisational reality becomes. Unexpected things happen.

So even as I'm trying to bring information into physical form, I need to let go of the outcome. Pretty friggin' exasperating when under a deadline.

We're going through a major expansion right now and it feels important to stay flexible. To be ready to pivot at any moment.

Reality is reorganizing. Rather than staying attached to what was, I'm curious to see what unfolds.

Because what is truly real never ceases to exist. It's the story that changes, the scenery gets moved around, characters enter and exit the stage.

Stay centered as Consciousness, and you can enjoy it all.

Out with the old, in with the new!

(c) 2009 Joan M. Newcomb

Today's a powerful day (in the illusion of things).  It's December 31st, the last day of the year.  It's also a Full Moon.  It's the 2nd Full Moon of the month, so a 'blue moon'.  And it's also a lunar eclipse! (If you're in Johannesburg or New Delhi, you're enjoying the view at the time I'm typing this).

I'm enjoying believing in astrology, so what I've picked up about Full Moon eclipses is that they pack the punch of 3x a regular Full Moon (and come only twice a year).  It indicates something in your life is coming to fullness or culmination.  Sometimes surprising or sudden changes happen on an eclipse.  Sometimes they happen a month to the date after (or before) the eclipse.  And they have a reverberative effect for the next 6 months.

Two weeks from now they'll be another eclipse, a New Moon solar one, that will indicate new beginnings.  So it's all good!

If you'd like to know more, I have some favorite websites where I get my information:
Susan Miller's Astrologyzone: http://astrologyzone.com which gives monthly predictions ("be sure to read your rising sign, too")
Astrodienst, from Zurich: http://astro.com which gives you detailed information based on your birth data.
The Cosmic Path, http://www.thecosmicpath.com/ which gives weekly & monthly predictions.

(That is, if you choose to believe in such things. You can decide on the Universe you choose to exist in; you could be in a parallel Universe where such things don't exist!)

Regardless, it's a good time to consider letting go of the past and moving forward into new creations.

Something I normally do at New Years is play the Transformation Game http://innerlinks.com either solo or, now that I'm married, with my husband.  It's a great way to focus for the coming year!

Energetically, it's important to release the past in order to have the space for new creations to happen.  Physically it's helpful, too.  There was this elderly woman who lives in a 4 bedroom house but never threw anything away.  She had a path from the back door to the kitchen, bathroom and her bedroom, but everything else was piled high with stuff of the past 50 years!  Your energetic space can look like that, too, if you don't cleanse and let go.

I'm not going to go into decluttering your  home, there are many other resources for that (http://flylady.com is a favorite of mine). There are lots of ways to energetically clear your space as well.

Ho'Oponopono http://www.hooponoponohelp.com/ is a pretty effective way to cleanse not only your inner space but patterns in the morphic field as well.

Robert Scheinfeld's Busting Loose model http://bustingloosefromthemoneygame.com does the same thing, different words, different language, ultimately clears your morphic field.

Releasing the old isn't like erasing memories, it's more putting them in the proper place (in the back of your aura).  It's de-energizing the emotion from those experiences so you're not wading around mired in past resentments, viewing the world through ancient "photographic slides" of your life.  What's great about the above two techniques is that you don't have to consciously know what you're clearing (it helps not to intellectualize).

Another simple technique is grounding, or what William Bloom calls "earthing".  Imagine an energy connection going from your lower abdomin (first/root chakra) to the center of the Earth.  Imagine it like one of those trash chutes chutes in old buildings that used to go down to the incinerator.   You can release imaginary trash bags filled with whatever you'd like to dump, down to the Earth's molten core.  Whatever you've release gets instantly transformed and recycled into beneficial energy for the planet.

You are 'lightening' your vibratory space, expanding and raising your awareness, and allowing in new and wonderful creations.  This is often the missing piece of the Law of Attraction, being energetically receptive to what you're attracting.

What happens when you do any (or all) of the techniques over time is that your life transforms.  In fun and magical ways.  Don't just do it on New Years, do it every day and any time it occurs to you (or you feel motivated to).  You can let go of the past and welcome new creations, regardless of the phase of the moon!!

So, try these (or make up your own) every day for the next week and see what happens.  And email me the results!  joan@joannewcomb.com

Deconstructing Reality

(c) 2009 Joan M. Newcomb

We are creating our reality moment by moment. What seems so solid and real in front of you is actually an illusion. It feels as real as you make it.

One perspective is that you're creating pictures from the moment you're born (and receiving them as well). Your aura is a gallery of pictures that you view the world through and the world sees you through (projection). Deenergize your pictures and you change your world.

Another perspective is that we exist within a morphic field (or morphic fields) of energy, and we encounter waves of specific fields as we move through life. It's a bit more three dimensional than the 'pictures' version.

There's great accuracy with both these perspectives, but also distortion. With the 'Pictures' viewpoint, there's the belief that others are projecting pictures at you as well. With the 'Morphic Field' viewpoint, there's the concept that these waves are pre-existing, created by the Collective Conscious which you're supposed to be a part of but feels like something outside of you.

There's also the perspective that this is a full-immersion Game, rather like Second Life on line, only with virtual reality headgear. Even then you believe that it was created by some Cosmic Programmer, who is other than you. In actuality, it's a Hologram, like the holodeck on Star Trek The Next Generation. You've forgotten that you're the one who's programmed the computer. (You've forgotten that you're the Computer, as well)!

When you believe that reality is created by something outside of you, then ideas such as 'change your pictures, change your life' become nullified. No matter what you do to manifest, there's this subconscious sabotage going on, to reaffirm that you're actually powerless and there's nothing you can really to change things.

What often happens is that you go into a great deal of effort and struggle to change, fix or improve the hologram, which just makes things feel more stuck.

So, the Truth is that it's Your creation. You are an Infinite Being - You *are* Cosmic Consciousness, and you've created this illusion to have fun experiencing the opposite of who You are. One Opposite is the illusion that you're small and powerless, and an individual separate from all the other billions on the planet.

In actuality, You created all of this, and all of this is You. You're perceiving it from physical form, because that's the perfect vehicle for this Human Game ride. It's limited - only lives a lifespan, is dense, can't fly, has all sorts of feelings, and has a personality (a mind of it's own).

You have so much fun experiencing the story line of this Body/Personality vehicle, even (or maybe especially) the struggles and pain and hardship!

When you begin to wake up to this awareness, your first task is to deconstruct reality. That is, de-energize the pictures or dissolve the morphic fields. Every thing that occurs from that waking up moment is an opportunity to clear the distortions. And as you do this, you start to experience the Joyfulness that is really You.

What I notice when I put my attention on this, whether through dissolving pictures or reclaiming power or any number of techniques in my spiritual toolkit, is that my external world looks different. The colors are brighter, everything feels clearer. It sometimes feels like I'm walking through a movie set, which doesn't make it less real, just different. My body feels more solid, but not necessarily more dense.

Also, things start happening in my reality - odd synchronicities, interesting people showing up or opportunities to create new storylines. I Am creating validation for my energy work. I Am affirming that this isn't real, but a fun sensory illusion.

My original belief was that we're all here to Create our Reality, by which I meant consciously manifest our desires. That was a body/personality perspective. It keeps wanting to drive the bus.

However in Spiritual/Energy Reality the opposite is always True. Body uses effort to make things happen, Spirit/Energy uses no effort (which is why things show up when you stop trying to make them happen). So the real way to create your reality is to destroy your pictures/distortions!

If that's all you do is de-energize pictures or reclaim power, that's enough. Because amazing things start happening when you do. Your body/personality fears that you'll lose everything if you do that, but again the opposite is true. In letting go of the illusion, you gain the whole world.

Try this for the next 7 days. Whenever it occurs to you, use an energy technique you know to de-energize pictures, or drop down the illusion. Even Byron Katie's "The Work" is a great way to dissolve limiting beliefs. Let go of trying to make things happen, let go of daily affirmations, etc.

And see how your life changes! And email me to let me know joan@joannewcomb.com !
