Mystic Musings: What To Do When Life Gets Lifey

What To Do When Life Gets Lifey ©2023 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

The last couple years have been a deep dive into density. It has mostly been a process of being present with others creating their own reality, walking with them through their experiences.

One has made a miraculous (the oncologist actually used this word) recovery. Another is slowly getting better. And another is still climbing out of the wreckage.

I'd play with Consciousness techniques whenever I could come up for air.

There have been times I've been so under water, there was no coming up.

And while all this was going on, I was volunteering with an organization at a world level, where I started an annual zoom January marathon, starting at noon in New Zealand and ending at noon in Hawaii (24 hours later but on the same day). The last one had over 3,000 attendees. And created a weekend workshop the last two years in June, which was actually 3 simultaneous workshops happening spanning time zones around the world.

I'm in the midst of final planning this year's June workshop which will have 4 simultaneous workshops, one in English, one in Spanish, one in Russian, and one multi-lingual (several languages).

In July I complete my time with this organization, in August I'm going to Spain to see my son, and in September... I'm very curious to see what September brings.

It's been such a strange mix of expansion and contraction, exhilaration and dealing with extraordinarily painful things, all at the same time. While flying back and forth to New York every month.

But movement happened and reality is reorganising so I am home most of the summer. It's taken me a solid month to do a video and to attempt this blog.

There have been times these last three years that I have wondered why, when I'm such a lofty and advanced spiritual being doing all these amazing international events, I'm also down in the dregs dealing with such pain and misery.

And the answer is - one, we're all lofty and advanced spiritual beings and two, life is an adventure in density and effort.

The more capable beings create the more difficult lifetimes.

We're all capable beings.

So, life gets lifey, life doesn't stop being lifey, and it really becomes how you manifest through it's density. You can resist it and create a lot more effort, or you can navigate it with Consciousness.

In late January my sister-in-law went through five weeks of radiation treatment, meant to eliminate any micro remnants of cancer. It meant we took daily trips to Manhattan from Flushing, which took about an hour each way on the subway. Many subway riders take little cat naps, so I decided to close my eyes and play with Consciousness techniques. Halfway through her treatment, back in Seattle my son was attacked in an attempted robbery, which suddenly brought me home early.

I expected playing with Consciousness on a regular basis was going to lift me up to more lofty levels. Silly me.

Instead, it's requiring me to play the reality game with ninja skills gained over the last forty years.

I create my reality as Consciousness. As Consciousness it's all about creativity. As Consciousness, challenging things are fun.

So I'm just going to take things a moment at a time, and play with Consciousness techniques, and see what happens.

Our Crazing Is Beautiful

Our Crazing Is Beautiful ©2018 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

I came across a word the other day:

Crazing: cracks that occur in ceramics, usually with overlying glaze. A similar effect is found in glassware, called crackle glass.

And I thought it a great metaphor for what happens to us as we interact with the external world.

We come out as whole and pure. We are bright, shining lights of Consciousness in a chubby body that can’t yet roll over, much less walk or talk.

We are also treasure chests of information and possibilities. Each one of us is Consciousness expressing in form, and as Consciousness we already know and have everything we need to make real all that we wish to create in this life.

Yet prior to birth we are glazed with the expectations and assumptions from the body that contained us and the bodies that surrounded us. The glaze thickened after we emerged from the projections of culture and society.

Crazing occurs when you attempt to expand beyond all these limits.

You feel like something is wrong with you because the inner you doesn’t match the outer imposed identity. It starts to crack as you as Consciousness grow to fulfill your potential.

You feel crazy when you realize your Truth is different than the stories told you by family and school.

The world looks crazy to you when you stand in integrity with your Truth. You see so many others operating out of alignment with their essential selves as Consciousness.

However, when you look at ceramics, you can see beauty in crazing. Just as uniquely beautiful as the wrinkled face of an older person.

In ceramics, crazing can precede fracture, which can destroy the piece (or transmute it into another art form). Yet crackle glass is highly prized and collectable.

This world is one of polarities and filled with dichotomies. It is a creation of Consciousness to experience the opposite of what Consciousness is, which is unity, joyousness, wisdom, timeless and formless.

It is meant to be an experience of density and effort. And at the same time we can move through the world easily and without resistance, if we maintain our awareness as Consciousness.

When we see our life as Consciousness, we can be amused by the insanity around us. We can fully appreciate being in form and being beyond form at the same time.

As Consciousness we love our body-personality, and we love our life. We play in our storyline with curiosity and wonder.

Shift your perspective to Consciousness, and you'll see the beauty in your crazing as well.
