Self Driving Cars

Self Driving Cars ©2018 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

The other day, someone was telling me how they had been stuck in their schtick. They didn't like it but they also couldn't get out of it, until someone helped them dismantle it. Afterwards they felt lighthearted and free.

It's reminiscent of how most people feel, going about their daily lives, feeling dissatisfied, discontent. They know they're stuck but feel powerless to get unstuck.

Until they experience a shift in Consciousness, and open to a whole new experience of expansion and freedom.

Our bodies are our vehicles on this planet. It's how we get to experience physical reality, and all the delicious sensations associated with it.

When we're operating unconsciously, our bodies become self driving cars. They're moving through their routines, they're picking up all sorts of impressions and having all sorts of reactions.

If you look around you, and if you look at the news, reality is filled with self driving cars, with very little Consciousness occupying them.

And, at the same time, there's an increasing amount of Consciousness coming into form nowadays. Which means all those cars are actually experiencing more Consciousness than ever before.

Which is why there seems to be greater collective freedom and empowerment AND greater outrage and atrocities than ever before.

It may seem like self driving cars don't *want* Consciousness occupying them. They want to keep careening about, smashing into dead ends and each other.

And yet, when Consciousness fully embodies, they calm down, feel happy, feel taken care of.

Self driving cars think they won't get what they want if they're not driving themselves.
But what really happens is they get everything they need, and more.

When you start to steer as Consciousness, the journey looks very, very different. Instead of chasing after things that remain forever out of reach, or feel hollow to attain, reality starts to reorganize in your favor. What you want starts to appear in your life, without any effort.

Instead of a winning lotto ticket, you have a prosperous and abundant life. It *feels* like you've won the lotto. Instead of the perfect job, you have a rich and rewarding career. Instead of your ideal soul mate, you have fulfilling emotional partnership.

All you have to do is take your vehicle off of autopilot. Shift your perspective from your personality to yourself as Consciousness. Navigating life as your own greater Consciousness is a very subtle, but profound, inner realignment.

When you do this, your life unfolds beyond your mind's wildest imagination.

Try this for a week and see what happens!

Do You Need To Lose Your Ego/Personality?

Do You Need To Lose Your Ego/Personality? ©2018 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

I know of three people who had profound spiritual awakenings, and lost their personality when they did. I personally believe they might have had mini-strokes or breakdowns. Regardless of the reason, they each went from being depressed, even suicidal, to an expanded knowingness, overnight.

In some spiritual practices, it's almost a requirement to destroy your ego in order to attain spiritual transcendence.

However, I believe that kind of requirement is a distortion of whatever the original teachings were. Like the idea that you need to deprive yourself, of food or sex or money, in order to be more holy.

You don't need to have a stroke, you don't need to suffer, nor do you need to become a blank slate, in order to shift from a lower awareness to Consciousness.

(One person who had a profound Consciousness Shift after stroke reported that her personality actually came back after a couple of years, but she just laughed at it).

You don't need to destroy your ego, you just need to discern the difference between it, and the greater aspect of You, the essence of you, which I like to call Consciousness.

If you look around, most everyone in the world is operating as their personality. Decisions are being made and actions are being taken, not as an Infinite or expanded Consciousness but as the little being in a body that has survival needs, that has limitations, that's only going to be here for a number of years.

I've found that the more disconnected you are from yourself as Consciousness, the more you will be running off of compulsive behaviors, and the more out of balance your life will be.

When you shift your perspective to that of Consciousness, you operate differently in the world. You're aware of your personality and your body's needs. You don't deny them, you care for yourself with adequate food, shelter and companionship.

It's not an overnight process (unless you want to have a mini-stroke or breakdown of some sort). But it's a process of learning to navigate differently, of discovering the difference between running the show as the "little" will versus the "greater" Will.

Your world does transform, and can transform rapidly, when you start operating as Consciousness. Yet it transforms in ways your personality may expect and beyond what your ego can imagine.

There's a greater result beyond whatever it is you think you want to be, do, or have right now. And it can be had easily and effortlessly, simply by shifting your perception to the greater viewpoint of yourself as Consciousness.

Rapists and Racists, What the HELL Is Going ON??

Rapists and Racists, What the HELL Is Going ON?? ©2014 Joan M. Newcomb

It certainly seems like we're all going to hell in a hand basket.  We've had several instances of white police murdering innocent black people.  We've had everyone's favorite jello pudding Pop turn out to be a creepy and frightening rapist (and he's now counter-suing one of his victims).  It's really all too, too much.

So, here's what's going on:  the more enlightened we collectively become, the more extreme and insane things will come to the surface.

Increased light reveals what's been in the shadows.  Increased enlightened individuals means things can't be hidden any longer.  We are empowered to speak out.  We feel entitled to justice.  When things are not ok, we call them out.

50-60 years ago, it was ok to hit your kids with a ruler, or a hairbrush.  It was "kind" of a parent to hit them with their bare hand, "because it hurt them, too".  (Way to add dose of guilt on top of your abuse)!

Shit like that doesn't fly anymore.

Restrictions (limiting thoughts, ideas, and attitudes) are disintegrating, because they cannot hold the higher and lighter vibration that is incarnating on the planet right now.  People who identify with those constraints are very uncomfortable.  Those with an externalized source of power feel very threatened.  They are frightened.  Their identities, their egos, are dying.

They are making a lot of noise to keep things as they are, they are trying to hold on to reins attached to an empty harness.

You cannot stop evolution.  You can't even slow it down.  It is a glacier heading towards the ocean, changing the topography as it moves.  Try pushing back the glacier.

Put your skis on and ride the glacier, you'll have a whole lot of fun.  Go with the floe.

However, everyone nowadays is experiencing some discomfort as they bring stuff up to be released.  Buried family patterns are coming to the surface, repressed memories are reflected to you in the news.  How do you 'let it go'?

Here's a couple techniques that may help.   When you're watching the news, imagine a stream of bubbles popping (you can blow real bubbles if you want).  Each bubble represents a thought, a memory, a mental image picture, that you want to let go of.  You don't have to examine each one.  You will find yourself feeling much clearer if you do this on a regular basis!

This one is new.  Imagine a 3-D picture frame lifting out of you.  Bring it out and examine it.  Move it around.  It shifts, it's loose, you can change it's dimensions. You can bring it back in, if you like, or send it out to orbit.  Notice what happens when you do.  Notice how things feel.

The picture frame represents an inner pattern you are changing or clearing.  You don't have to know what it is.  It's better not to know, as it opens you up to greater possibilities of expansion.

Play with this for the next week.  Be whimsical about this.  And, be surprised by the results!

Guidance and Prayer

©2008 Joan M. Newcomb

I just completed a submission to the Oprah Show on Prayer and Healing (see it on my Mystic Musings blog ) which inspired me to write more on the subject of prayer.

I don't pray, at least in the way I assume people pray, although I do enjoy standard prayers such as St. Francis' and the Serenity Prayer. I have a metaphysical approach to prayer (of course). I see it as focusing energy more than communication with the Divine. For instance, the Lord's Prayer from a mystical viewpoint actually helps one run energy through your chakras!

My communication with God or the Universe is more casual, and usually starts with my saying "Hey U"! I don't ask for anything, although sometimes I request clarity on things.

The other day I was in a meeting and we were reading a story where the person prayed for guidance for her marriage. What a great idea! So me, being me, closed my eyes and shifted my focus, intending on prayer for guidance, too, and instead found myself relaxing into a greater awareness of the energy in the room. Things became brighter and sharper and clearer. Which is how I feel when I'm connected to Source.

What kept running through my head was the phrase 'sought through prayer and meditation to increase our conscious contact with God, prayer only for God's will for us and the guidance to carry it out'. I thought that was an interesting response to a request for guidance for one's marriage.

Except that I have been aware of wanting to focus more on my partnership with Source, in which case it was a pretty clear answer.

Then I felt a little resistance to praying for God's will for me, but that's because of the language. Any time I've aligned my will with Source, the higher Will, I've felt much better and in agreement with whatever is going on at the time.

I thought about 'the power to carry it out' and how it was similar to the Serenity Prayer's 'Courage to change the things I can' (which I've always considered to be me). Courage and power. When I'm aligned with Source, my energy feels clear, I feel empowered (inwardly, rather than dominantly powerful).

Writing this I recognize my resistance was my little ego wanting to run the show. It's a chihuahua thinking it's a mastiff. It's a mini-will with a Napoleon complex.

My current growth phase concerns de-energizing patterns in the morphic field that have been blocking my experience as Spirit. My little will thinks they're real, so I end up battling with windmills. (Don't you love how I'm mixing metaphors today)? Which only solidifies them, or brings more experiences that reinforces them.

So, without formally going down on my knees, I'm coming to see that my prayer is being answered. I was wanting navigational tips, but the guidance I'm getting is to focus on my inner connection with Source. It feels like what to do is to turn within and the patterns will naturally evaporate from lack of attention.

Notice that my experience with prayer is more empathic and unstructured. It's intuitive rather than intellectual, I feel it more than think it. Notice what your natural tendency is; are you visual rather than verbal? Maybe your form of prayer is in drawing, and your guidance comes through mental images rather than words. Are you musical? Perhaps your connection with the Divine is in playing some good tunes. And when a song goes through your head, the lyrics could be communication from Source.

Have fun with this, and see what happens!
