Real World Manifesting ©2015 Joan M. Newcomb
Think about all the things, people, and situations that you've created in your life. Some you can validate that you created - you graduated from high school, you got into college, you chose that (even if it wasn't the college of your choice, you made it happen). If you got married, you chose that (even if you chose to get divorced later - and you chose that, too).
It's harder to validate that you chose being born, and you chose the family that you were born into.
Maybe you read Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain, or listen to Abraham-Hick's Law of Attraction, Art of Allowing. You put something on a vision board, or you imagined it in a pink bubble. When it happened, you were pleased but maybe discounted the achievement as 'magic'.
It's more difficult to acknowledge that you created things that seem to happen spontaneously, or by accident.
Making things happen in the 'real' world takes hard work and effort. You set goals and take steps to achieve them. And if stuff happens to thwart your accomplishments... oh, well.
It's not helpful to say 'you create your reality', because when crappy stuff happens, you feel it's your fault. It's not accurate to say You are an infinitely capable being, because when good stuff doesn't happen, you feel like something is wrong with you.
The thing is - you are *both*. At your core, you are an Infinite Being, and that's the aspect of you that created the reality you're in. Your body is your vehicle, your personality is the combination of pictures and experiences that you've created since before you were born.
You, the Infinite Being, creates your reality. Your personality wishes it were creating your reality.
How can you tell the different? You, the Infinite Being, is amused and light hearted. It's here for the fun of it. There is no time or space, so it's infinitely patient with it's creations. This lifetime is happening in the blink of an eye, and it's simultaneously experiencing all lifetimees as well.
You, your personality, is serious. It's main focus is survival. It's not going to make it out of this lifetime alive. It exists in present time, the past is just a memory and the future is not real. It wants things NOW.
When you use energy techniques to manifest as an Infinite Being, it's done playfully. If it doesn't happen, no big deal.
When you use energy techniques as your personality, you are trying to make things happen. If it doesn't happen, there must be some outside interference.
Trying to make things happen by trying to maneuver your outer circumstances won't work. It's as effective as an actor pushing sets around on a stage.
Changing your energy from within, changes your external circumstances.
Look at the things you'd like to have in your life. How will you feel when you have them? It's the feeling that you are going for. You think you want the winning lotto ticket, but really you want to feel free. It's the energy of freedom you desire. And, as Essence, you *are* free.
You think you want the perfect relationship, but really you want to love and be loved. It's the energy of Love you want. And, ironically, Love is already surrounding you and radiating to you (and from you), if you only take the time to notice.
Bringing something into form, manifesting in the real world, takes focus. But not effort. You are a thought, wrapped in love, and focused into density. You are loved, and you are loveable.
Make a list of the main things that you want in the key areas of your life. What's the main feeling you want to have?
Give yourself the gift of those feelings. Imagine that *you* are in a pink balloon of freedom, or love, or whatever core energy that you want to have.
Try this for 7 days and let me know what happens!

Vulnerability Refreshed
Vulnerability Refreshed ©2016 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC
We're experiencing an increase in Consciousness, and people are talking about the new Divine Feminine energy on the planet. I think it's because, with increased Consciousness comes increased sensitivity, receptivity, creativity, and vulnerability.
Many years ago I saw Shakti Gawain at East West Bookshop in Seattle. She mentioned that there is strength in vulnerability. I didn't know what she meant then.
If you grew up in a family, or had relationships that were abusive or alcoholic, the world was not a supportive place. Being vulnerable meant you'd be attacked; it wasn't safe to be vulnerable.
When you have a perspective that the Universe doesn't have your best interest at heart, then you see situations as being against you. God is not benevolent; there is no one to lean on.
For me, these perceptions were walls (and floors) in the structure of my persona. I've created throughout my life experiences that have broken them down.
For a while it seems that every couple of years something would occur that would drop me down into the 'basement'; showing me my foundation was faulty.
Now the experience isn't as linear as floors and foundation. Portions have disintegrated while other areas have strengthened. It's become safe to be vulnerable while facing one of the most difficult challenges I ever have had.
Vulnerability is a softening into oneself and not resisting what is. Vulnerability is accepting what is breaking away, what is being lost. It is feeling the feelings as they come up. It is letting yourself go through them.
I'm starting to get what Shakti Gawain meant. Vulnerability is spiritual strength. You're not fighting the illusion and you're not controlling or fixing it. It's not denying the pain your body and persona feel as what they believed was real is going away.
In reality it's transforming into something different, which will probably feel better. It will probably be something you can later say you were grateful to have happen. But vulnerability is staying in the present moment, not trying to leap beyond the discomfort to when it's all resolved.
It's an interesting place to navigate (and sometimes it can't be navigated; you just have to cling to the raft as it hits white water). For me, when I can remember I'm Essence, then I can guide myself or hold my hand through the experience. When I can't, I can lean on another concept, of Consciousness bigger than the current circumstances.
What I'm noticing is that the awarenesses are coming multiple times a day; ones I would have missed if I were trying to tough it out. Although I don't quite know where this is going to end up, I can see to the next bend in the river.
Vulnerability isn't helplessness or self-pity. Even when you feel most alone, you are being supported. You have air to breathe. People and things show up.
The force of the river. The "solidity" of the raft. The frigid water. The warm sun on my back. Even in sadness or pain, we can love what is.
This week, notice where you are in relation to all this. Vulnerability is transparency, being open, being right in the present moment. If it resonates with you, let yourself breathe through it.
And that's all you have to do. See what transforms when you do it!
