Every couple of years (or faster, it seems nowadays), I go through a consciousness shift, and my techniques go through an "upgrade". I struggle for a bit, as old ways stop working, until I relax into whatever the new "operating system" appears to be.

Recently, I was on a conference call for a marketing course I've been taking, led by Robert Scheinfeld who is the author of "Busting Loose From The Money Game". When I asked him a question on being frustrated with an aspect of my business, he suggested that I talk to my guides about it.

Now, I thought I'd stopped talking to guides a long time ago. After I'd upgraded them and we stopped having 'staff meetings' when they became electrons. My first reaction was, "oh, that's such 'old paradigm'!"

Then I realized, I communicate with the unseen all the time, I just don't slow down enough to put it on paper. What would it be like if I tried "staff meetings" again with the deva of my business? Would it even work?

I decided to try a coning, which is an energy configuration that I used for many years, with great success. It starts by focusing as Consciousness and connecting with the deva of my business (I actually have several businesses, but in this case I just chose an overarching Deva, without specifically defining what it was). And then connecting with Pan as a representative of Nature, the aspect of bringing the devic information into form. And I connect with my 'team' which can be any number of unseen helpers (this time I asked for tech help, publicity, copywriting, and some others).

It was really interesting. I never really paid attention to Pan but in this case I got a *very* strong energetic perception of a big, barrel chested and full bearded, seemingly male presence, who *really* wanted me to open a bottle of wine and have some fun. I moved on to brief communication with the Deva and the team, basically me requesting inspiration and information. It ended fairly quickly. I don't even remember what I wrote. It's on my iPad somewhere.

But right after that I got a call from a client from nearly 10 years ago requesting an hour long energy healing. I stopped doing them a while ago as my focus has shifted to teaching people to transforming themselves. I've also stopped doing hour long calls, when my rates went up. 30 minute calls deliver the same amount of transformation more efficiently. But, what the heck, so I did it.

Including that session, I unexpectedly earned nearly $1000 in the week after I did that first coning.

I've had a couple "staff meetings" since then, really disappointed that I'm not sensing Pan the way I originally felt. They're very brief, and I don't really recall anything hugely inspirational coming from them.

And then, out of the blue, I got an email inviting me to a telesummit at the end of May. Sure, why not, I thought, I can recycle the offer I used for a telesummit I did last year. But it turns out this telesummit is focusing on Health, Miraculous Healings and Prevention of Diseases, a completely different topic.

Hmm. So then I give the woman in charge who will be interviewing me a sample session and chat briefly about a possible product. And while we talked, something clicked that what I'm offering will be seeds for the next level of my online courses.

See, I've been offering the same course for the last two years, primarily as a private coaching package and sometimes to small groups. But I've been so busy that when people complete, I haven't been able to give them something beyond that beginner course.

Much has been written about connecting to your spirit guides or guardian angels. It's reassuring to know that there's unseen help.  People have experienced miraculous, real world results when working with invisible helpers.

We are born with some of them, and we collect others along the way. Some are more active than others.  If we had rough childhoods, we may have had a mariah step in to handle things.  If we created a business, chances are there's a deva overseeing it.

It's empowering to actively communicate with them, to make requests and receive information.  You can tune into them through meditation, or journaling, or just talking aloud when you're driving (both hands on the wheel so it doesn't look like you're on your phone)!

When I started having regular 'staff meetings' with my business devas, my income skyrocketed.  I've also used them for health related issues with some success.  Pretty much any area of your life can be improved with support from Spirit.

So *why* on earth would you want to fire your Spirit Guides?

Some guides are from the past and are outdated

Here are a few reasons:

1. When they limit or hold you back.  Childhood Mariahs are protectors when you're little but as an adult you don't need a nanny.  They are lovely beings, but they still see you as a child.

2. When you've entered a new phase of growth.  We'll call in guides to assist us when we're at certain levels of awareness.  When we advance in Consciousness, we need ones that match us at our higher vibration.

3. When you've changed directions.  Angels, guides, devas, all have a specific focus or area of attention.  If you finish medical school and suddenly realized you only did it to please your family of doctors and your real passion is law, you may need a different team of helpers.

How do you fire your guides?

You don't have to go all Donald Trump on them. I've found a wonderful serenity and neutrality when working with the other side. They don't need drama, just respect.

1. Communicate with them directly.  Have a little chat in whatever way works for you.  Writing it down helps validate the communication for you because you can read it afterwards.  Prayer and meditation gives your communication a focused intent.  I like talking outloud with my guides, when I'm driving, or walking my dog. (You can wear your headset plugged into your phone that's turned off, if you're worried that your neighbors will think you're looney).

2. Bring them into the present moment.  Imagine the energy of present time, or a calendar with today's date. This is especially effective with childhood guides. Somtimes they will automatically disappear. They can go off to help another kid.

3. Release their contract. We make agreements with our invisible friends. You can upgrade or release their contract and they will go on their way.

Now what?

You may want to take some time to reclaim your own energy, be with yourself in your new space.  Or you might be ready to hire new staff to help you!

1. Specifically ask for what you want.  Because you will get it. Again, do this in a way that works best for you.  If you prefer ritual or formality, you can light candles, say prayers or affirmations, write something and put it on your vision board.

2. Be open for something different. When I upgraded my business devas, I'd been use to formal staff meetings.  My new group didn't work that way. They were like a bunch of mellenials with iPhones that would spontaneously "psychic text" inspiration to me.

3. Take Action. Some angels will go out and find you clients while you sit on your couch eating popcorn. But more than likely you'll get intuitive hits or opportunities that require you to take action. We're the ones in physical bodies, so we have to act in order to make things real.

Try these suggestions and fasten your seatbelt, because your life is about to accelerate!

WTF is Happening?

It's been a tough week.  There's been deaths, losses, destruction, a lot of people experiencing pain and depression.  Pretty much anyone with a physical body has been impacted.

Although my personal storyline is good at the moment, my own experience of death and loss is pretty recent, so it's easy to pick up and match the resonances of friends and loved ones going through similar things now.

When I feel what others are feeling, from the same awareness level that they're feeling it, it's pretty unbearable.  This happened to them, they're in shock, their world has ended, they don't know how they're going to make it through the day.  It's immobilizing.

When I shift my perspective to Consciousness, I can be useful.  From Consciousness, I get a global perspective of what is going on.  I can see us collectively moving to another level of awareness.  I know the people who have passed aren't really gone, they're existing at a vibration we can feel, although we can no longer see them.

As Consciousness, the changes are exciting.  As body, they feel pretty f*%k'd up.  Things are coming to the surface to clear, things are cracking open.  We're feeling loss inside ourselves when we're really just letting go of stuck or rigid thinking or unconscious beliefs.

It's an opportunity for expansion, to embrace the new, to step up into a lighter, brighter awareness, but anything at a lower vibration, feels very uncomfortable.

Just as computers need upgrades, periodically we need to upgrade.  Sometimes it's our thinking, sometimes it's our behavior, sometimes our techniques, sometimes it's our energy system.  Athletes, dancers and regular exercisers have to upgrade their workouts to keep up with their levels of fitness.

People in recovery discover this, as they progress out of their earlier physical addictions and have to tackle personality issues and compulsive behavior.  It's no shame to take on new twelve step programs even if you're an 'old timer' in your original one, it's like going to different levels of graduate school.

As we grow and evolve as Consciousness, we need to move forward, too.  Sometimes it's being open to new ways of doing things, expanding our belief system to encompass.  Your guides and/or angels may have been helpful for you at the beginning, but you may need new ones who match your new vibration.

Sometimes this shows up as new beings matching your new energy level, sometimes it's the old ones communicating in a new way. I used to have regular times I'd sit with my journal and record what my devas would tell me.  An upgrade a few years ago brought in a completely different team, who no longer required 'staff meetings'.  How will you guys communicate with me? I asked. "Twitter", they said.  So now I get random thoughts and inspirations 'tweeted' to me.

We have to upgrade our beliefs and our energy techniques as well.  It may be a matter of learning new techniques, or hearing things in a new way.  It may be taking your current techniques and 'modernizing them' from dialup to WiFi.

This biggest change I see is where we access our information and place our focus.  If we try to use other people's knowledge, it doesn't work for us anymore.  We need to connect to Source using our own internal cellular modem.  Also, if you're focused on the personality level, in the 'story' or the  drama, you're swimming at the bottom of the fishtank (sorry to mix metaphors)!

Want to feel better?  Ask for an upgrade, then feel the shift (it may be subtle or profound).  Ask to experience what's going on as Consciousness, and notice how it expands your perspective.
