What Is Dying In Your Life?

What Is Dying In Your Life? ©2016 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC

This has been a long, hard year for many people. And we've had some significant deaths, as well. With the recent unexpected passings, I've joked that David Bowie and Prince are hosting one heck of a Sky Party.

And for those of us who are staying in our bodies, there have been other kinds of loss. If it hasn't been material, or in relationship, it's been within ourselves. Perhaps our world view has changed, or an aspect of our identity has gone. Perhaps we have lost hope, or inspiration.
Chinese Opera, by Nova

In the last couple of months some of these have been sudden and unexpected. We're in shock, as well as grief.

For months now, I have been aware of an impending death in my life, and am not clear what it is. I've been rebuilding since 2013 (the year I helped both parents die, and also my dog, lost my uncle, my house, and my business effectively shut down).

I've also been aware of being at a tipping point, a sense of about to dive in, all-or-nothing. Which doesn't entirely make sense to me, since I've always been resolutely committed to my work, which is my purpose and calling in life.

What this reminds me of, is when I did psychic readings and looked at people's futures. Sometimes their future self would be right there on the timeline, pointing out what was going to happen. At other times, the timeline would disappear into a fog.

I had two interpretations for this image. One was that the person wasn't meant to see what was coming up, they were supposed to stay in the present moment, otherwise they'd try to skip steps to achieve it. The other was that the future was still being written, it was still being designed.

I sense it is the latter for me. I am letting go of expectations and assumptions. Releasing effort, trying hard. It's been several years of a lot of action, of running around giving it away, trying to reach as many people as possible. It feels like things are changing, my focus is narrowing to those who can show up and have the information.  It feels like a return to creativity as well. I've had a couple books that have been waiting years to come out; perhaps 2017 is a time they will be birthed!

So what is dying for you? What is going away?

Collectively, I think we've moved to a new level of Consciousness, so anything of a denser vibration no longer exists in this new reality.

We can use this time to our advantage, to actively release that which we may perceive as dragging or holding us back. Perhaps you've been struggling with something for a long time. You can leave it in 2016, and let 2017 be a different Universe for you.

You don't have to know the solution, or the answer. You just have to step into the space where it exists.

You may find that you haven't lost anything at all (anything of significance is always stored in Consciousness) and instead gain a whole new world!

Growth Spurts

Growth Spurts ©2014 Joan Newcomb

If someone told me this time last year that I would be where I am today, I would have never believed them.  Even six months ago, I would have been astounded.

And yet, at this moment, I can't imagine being anywhere else.  Again I am in a place where it has to be me, it couldn't be anyone else.  No one else knows what I know, could do what I'm doing.  And no one else is who I am.

In order to be here I had to set aside many limiting beliefs.  I have to hold two different truths, simultaneously.  I have to stay sensitive and aware, and non-resistant.  It's both effortless and difficult at the same time.

It's a friggin' growth experience.

Life is a growth experience.  We make a decision as Essence to squeeze into form. Then as we decide to grow and change, our Essence steps into that space instantaneously.  It takes time and space for Body to catch up.

Essence is beyond time and space.  Essence is everywhere at once.  Essence IS growth and change.  Body exists within time and space.  Body goes from the past to the future.  Body raises and lowers it's vibration.

Sometimes we know the growth experience we're heading into, sometimes we're only given glimpses, and sometimes it's a total surprise.  But know that nothing is thrust upon you, nothing outside yourself is forcing you to change.  It's You as Essence that has created this opportunity.

You can say yes to it, you can say no to it.  Sometimes a 'no' is really a yes to a different opportunity.  But sometimes 'no' is resisting expansion, which doesn't stop the growth but just makes it more painful or difficult.

With each of my children, at the moment labor began, I thought, 'I changed my mind'!

At times like that, you can't really have a discussion about it.  Birth's gonna happen.

I've found, however, that even in the midst of the most challenging growth periods, there's always a blessing, a moment of light, some kind of support, as long as we remain open and notice it.

Growth is always good, although sometimes it takes a few years to realize it.

Make it easier on yourself by not resisting (accepting what is, and moving forward with it).  Realize that You created it, be in agreement with the greater aspect of Yourself.  Stay open and curious, and see what happens!

Birthing Pains

©2011 Joan M. Newcomb

Yesterday was very energetically interesting.  I felt like I was high - on caffeine without the jitters. The top of my head (crown and sixth chakras) were very clear and open.  It was like a continuous flow of creative energy. I kept wondering who was 'in my space' - if it was a baby being or a woman who was pregnant.

My husband kept saying he felt a profound change, a deep transformation or clearing out.

Then our stovetop blew up so we went out to dinner during a wind storm and when we got home the power was out.

I had a bit of battery left on my laptop to send a few emails and as I was shutting it down I saw the first Twitter notifications of the earthquake in Japan.

Today the news has been filled with the Tsunami hitting around the Pacific, and my Facebook pages filled with postings to do with astrological predictions, Mayan calendar dates, and scientific reports.  Quite a lot of excitement!

One comment said "Birthing Pains for the New Earth," and reminded us to breathe.

The birth process is a great analogy for what we're collectively going through.  Birth doesn't just happen on a physical level, there's a spiritual and energetic experience at the same time.

Physically you have contractions, which aren't necessarily painful at first but hurt like an SOB when the head's coming out (I had two home births without medication).  You definitely have to breathe through it!  Energetically it's very powerful as the Being prepares to fully move into form (it's been there during the development of the foetus but it really 'moves in' when the baby body comes out).  The energy at a birth can be chaotic or euphoric or both.

The Earth has been having powerful contractions, with major earthquakes and volcanoes over the past year.  We're experienced the chaos resulting from these events and may have missed the euphoria.

Consciousness is moving more fully into form. Consciousness is the essence of who We are, all the different bodies and personalities are the manifestation of Consciousness.  From Consciousness' perspective, Consciousness is integrating more into bodies.  Our individual personality and body we may experience it as our Awareness is raising or we are 'waking up.

As this is happening, anything that is not in integrity with Consciousness is disintegrating and falling away.  We are experiencing 'earthquakes' in our personal lives.  Things we've identified with and relied upon are disintegrating.  Our careers, our investments, our relationships all seem to be falling apart.

People who identify with these things are experiencing the most pain.  And that which is "dying" is squawking the loudest.  People and things who have been limiting people's expansions are losing power, as we're seeing in the Middle East.  It's interesting to see the right wing extreme in the US attempt to impose more limitations and restrict basic rights.  They may seem to be 'winning' but they cannot prevent the inevitable expansion any more than a woman in labor can cross her legs and stop her birth.

With increased Consciousness there's increased responsibility.  This does not mean taking responsibility for others, nor accepting blame for events.  It means responding-to rather than reacting.  It means ownership of your own creations.  You are not a child and God is not the parent.  You are the Divine Being, senior in your own space.  It means taking responsibility for your inner power and use of it.

How do you get through the birth pains?  Breathe.  Allow support; spiritual midwives will show up in all sorts of guises.  Accept (because there's no going back when labor has started).  When you are in agreement with the changes, the process goes easier for you!

View it from a Spiritual perspective and you'll find yourself excited rather than fearful.  Instead of trying to control the outcome, be curious about what possibilities await you.  Step up and out of your personal story and drama (and beyond the news and gossip) and see the bigger picture.  Open to the expansion and you'll have a quick and joyful birth.

Remember these suggestions over the next days and weeks and you'll have a lot more fun with your transformation.
