Hearing, Having, and Ho'Oponopono

(c) 2010 Joan M. Newcomb

I'm going to try to weave together three themes I've been experiencing the last few weeks.

The first is Ho'Oponopono.  In my last Ezine I mentioned it, along with a link to a site I'd not been to before.  It turns out to be a very good site, that had a very good article about taking 100% for your reality.

Ho'Oponopono is a Hawaiian Shamanistic practice of turning within and releasing 'erroneous thoughts' that contribute to the negative patterns in the world.  It was effectively used by Dr. Ihaleakela Hew Len to treat "incurably insane" patients in a locked ward of a Hawaii State Mental Hospital.  Within two years, the ward was closed because all of the patients either got better and were released, or got better enough to be transferred to a regular ward of the hospital.

It fits into my belief system in many ways.  One simple way is that 'thoughts create things' (to quote Mike Dooley, whom I'm interviewing next week on my Radio Show).  Every thought you think is a filter through which you perceive the world, and a projection you create into the world.  Everyone you come into contact with is/has a 'matching thought' with you.

So if someone calls you up and starts complaining about their work or their love life, somewhere within you is a 'matching mental image picture' otherwise they wouldn't show up in your reality.  Doing Ho'Oponopono is a way of deenergizing that thought from within, which de-energizes it from them, and contributes to de-energizing it within the world.

That's one level of understanding things.  The next level is that this world is Your hologram.  You, as Consciousness, created it down to the smallest detail, including all of the personalities in it (including yourself as one of the cast members).  The building blocks of the hologram can be considered thoughts, or they could be considered pictures, or they could be considered emotions or sensations or pixels.  It's all the same, in the same way that a three-dimensional Pixar film is made up of music and story plot as well as the computer generated images.  Ho'Oponopono is one way of cleaning distortions in the hologram so You can enjoy the creation more clearly.

The thing is, you can't be in resistance to whatever you'd doing Ho'Oponopono for.  You can't act like it's outside of your space or someone else's creation.  You can't judge it nor Yourself for creating it.  You can't use Ho'Oponopono to manipulate the storyplot.  That is, you can't do Ho'Oponopono to make things go the way you want them to.

Ho'Oponopono, like every Truly effective energy technique, is best done with a clear and open mind.  I like to have a sense of amused anticipation, to see what's going to happen but not expect what will happen.  You're 'reclaiming power from your Hologram' without assumptions of what that's going to be like.

What happens for me is that interesting people show up as clients or callers to my show.  Someone who's a burned out healer/counselor who has people owing them money, who has to be encouraged to raise their rates and prioritize themselves first. (I REMEMBER BEING THAT WAY)!

People with under-earning problems who want to argue for their limitations, who can't hear the suggestions I'm giving them for getting unstuck (BEEN THERE DONE THAT)!

Someone who is super-capable and has to do it all alone without any help yet needs assistance moving forward in their business (TOO FAMILIAR)!

One night a week ago, I found myself drifting in and out of sleep and doing Ho'Oponopono every waking moment.  It was a very effective solution to insomnia!  I began feeling waves of Infinite Love as I did it, which is what happens when I'm fully connected to Consciousness.

Which brings up the other part I want tie in, 'hearing and having'.  Havingness is essential to manifestation. It's taking ownership of your creations.  If you can own everything you create, the "good" and the "bad", you can increase your ability to manifest.  Without havingness, an endless parade of your desires can show up on your doorstep and you either don't open the door, disregard the gift, or not water the plant so it dies (to combine a bunch of metaphors).

The hearing part is, you've been told this before.  This information has been out there your whole life, and coming to you in many different ways.  It was there before The Secret DVD first came out.  It was there before Abraham-Hicks and before Seth found their channels.  When did you first hear it?  Have you heard it yet? When you can hear it, you can have it.

I always end my Ezine articles with a suggestion to 'try this for a week and see what happens'.  You don't really have to do anything this week.  Except maybe notice the matching experiences with everyone who shows up.  If you feel motivated to take the next step of releasing that energy from within your space, great.

Just see how your reality completely changes from that first simple step!

And email me what happens! joan@joannewcomb.com

Deconstructing Reality

(c) 2009 Joan M. Newcomb

We are creating our reality moment by moment. What seems so solid and real in front of you is actually an illusion. It feels as real as you make it.

One perspective is that you're creating pictures from the moment you're born (and receiving them as well). Your aura is a gallery of pictures that you view the world through and the world sees you through (projection). Deenergize your pictures and you change your world.

Another perspective is that we exist within a morphic field (or morphic fields) of energy, and we encounter waves of specific fields as we move through life. It's a bit more three dimensional than the 'pictures' version.

There's great accuracy with both these perspectives, but also distortion. With the 'Pictures' viewpoint, there's the belief that others are projecting pictures at you as well. With the 'Morphic Field' viewpoint, there's the concept that these waves are pre-existing, created by the Collective Conscious which you're supposed to be a part of but feels like something outside of you.

There's also the perspective that this is a full-immersion Game, rather like Second Life on line, only with virtual reality headgear. Even then you believe that it was created by some Cosmic Programmer, who is other than you. In actuality, it's a Hologram, like the holodeck on Star Trek The Next Generation. You've forgotten that you're the one who's programmed the computer. (You've forgotten that you're the Computer, as well)!

When you believe that reality is created by something outside of you, then ideas such as 'change your pictures, change your life' become nullified. No matter what you do to manifest, there's this subconscious sabotage going on, to reaffirm that you're actually powerless and there's nothing you can really to change things.

What often happens is that you go into a great deal of effort and struggle to change, fix or improve the hologram, which just makes things feel more stuck.

So, the Truth is that it's Your creation. You are an Infinite Being - You *are* Cosmic Consciousness, and you've created this illusion to have fun experiencing the opposite of who You are. One Opposite is the illusion that you're small and powerless, and an individual separate from all the other billions on the planet.

In actuality, You created all of this, and all of this is You. You're perceiving it from physical form, because that's the perfect vehicle for this Human Game ride. It's limited - only lives a lifespan, is dense, can't fly, has all sorts of feelings, and has a personality (a mind of it's own).

You have so much fun experiencing the story line of this Body/Personality vehicle, even (or maybe especially) the struggles and pain and hardship!

When you begin to wake up to this awareness, your first task is to deconstruct reality. That is, de-energize the pictures or dissolve the morphic fields. Every thing that occurs from that waking up moment is an opportunity to clear the distortions. And as you do this, you start to experience the Joyfulness that is really You.

What I notice when I put my attention on this, whether through dissolving pictures or reclaiming power or any number of techniques in my spiritual toolkit, is that my external world looks different. The colors are brighter, everything feels clearer. It sometimes feels like I'm walking through a movie set, which doesn't make it less real, just different. My body feels more solid, but not necessarily more dense.

Also, things start happening in my reality - odd synchronicities, interesting people showing up or opportunities to create new storylines. I Am creating validation for my energy work. I Am affirming that this isn't real, but a fun sensory illusion.

My original belief was that we're all here to Create our Reality, by which I meant consciously manifest our desires. That was a body/personality perspective. It keeps wanting to drive the bus.

However in Spiritual/Energy Reality the opposite is always True. Body uses effort to make things happen, Spirit/Energy uses no effort (which is why things show up when you stop trying to make them happen). So the real way to create your reality is to destroy your pictures/distortions!

If that's all you do is de-energize pictures or reclaim power, that's enough. Because amazing things start happening when you do. Your body/personality fears that you'll lose everything if you do that, but again the opposite is true. In letting go of the illusion, you gain the whole world.

Try this for the next 7 days. Whenever it occurs to you, use an energy technique you know to de-energize pictures, or drop down the illusion. Even Byron Katie's "The Work" is a great way to dissolve limiting beliefs. Let go of trying to make things happen, let go of daily affirmations, etc.

And see how your life changes! And email me to let me know joan@joannewcomb.com !

Ho'Oponopono to reclaim power from the hologram...

(c) 2009 Joan M. Newcomb

Ho'Oponopono is a Hawaiian shamanic tool for reclaiming power from the morphic field. Although that's not exactly how Joe Vitale described it in his book 'Zero Limits'.

Ho'Oponopono first became known in popular circuits through the internet rumor - actual true story - of Dr. Ihaleakela Hew Len, a psychotherapist assigned to an 'incurable' ward of criminally insane patients in a mental hospital. The place was so bad, plants died there. It had a high turnover rate for doctors and nurses working there. It was a scary place.

Dr. Hew Len never met with his patients, yet within a short time people started getting better. Morale improved. And now the place is closed, because all the patients recovered.

How? He sat with each patient's chart and chanted Ho'Oponopono: "I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you." He didn't chant it for them, but for the part within him that created them.

If you look at this reality as the hologram program You created (you just forgot you were the one standing outside the holodeck talking to the computer), then what Dr. Hew Len was doing was denergizing the part of the program that created the insanity. He did it by turning within, tuning into Himself.

In Busting Loose From The Money Game, Journey To The Infinite, A Path to True Joy and other work by Robert Scheinfeld, he talks about reclaiming power from a 'Phase 2' perspective.

Phase 1 is when you believe the world is real, you're powerless and limited and life happens to you. Phase 2 is when you wake up and realize this world is an illusion, your holographic creation. You acknowledge that You are an Infinite Being, the one that created it. You begin to reclaim power from all the patterns in the morphic field that are uncomfortable.

Scheinfeld created 'The Process' for reclaiming power, which is whenever you feel discomfort, dive into it and declare the Truth about it. That You're an Infinite Being, this is an illusion, and you're reclaiming power from it. Then you appreciate the illusion as a marvellous creation.

There are many ways to reclaim power. In my early Mystery School training, I learned that we are Spirit and we've manifested the body to experience the fun of being in the physical, all the emotions and sensations this world provides that we don't have on the non-physical. Which includes negative emotions and physical discomfort. At Spirit we're enjoying it all, even if the body-personality is griping about it. In Clairvoyant Training we saw everything as pictures rather than patterns, and we learned to denergize the ones that block us from seeing clearly.

So, my fun discovery the other day was to use Ho'Oponopono to reclaim power. When I said, 'I'm sorry, please forgive me. I love you, thank you' as the Infinite Being or Spirit, addressing my body-personality, I noticed a tremendous energy shift.

So whenever I felt uncomfortable, or some memory or topic came up for me, some 'issue', I imagined Me stepping into the situation and addressing me. I'd say 'I'm sorry I created you to have that shitty childhood experience' or 'Please forgive Me for writing that subplot into your story line.' Then I'd say, 'I love you' and I really meant it, I'd feel this wave of compassion similar to what I feel for my kids as they're making their way through life. Then I'd say, 'Thank you in advance' because I'm not certain that the body-personality me has really forgiven me for the shitty childhood or subplot.

You can do this with other people in your hologram, as long as you do it from the perspective that they're actors in your story. You auditioned and cast them for the part. Including whatever you're aware of or reacting to in their character or story line. "I'm sorry" You say to yourself, "for creating that boss or co-worker or family member." "Please forgive me for writing them into your show." "I love you." "Thank you". Oh, and "What a marvellous creation this all is"!

I can tell when energy moves because I start breathing deeper. And shortly after reclaiming power, I usually feel inexplicably happy. Except the explaination is that I'd reclaimed power. The Process does this, too. It's just fun to try different ways. And it was fun to see Me addressing me.

It helps to do them without an agenda, because if you're trying to change, fix or improve something you're judging it. And judging it makes it stick like glue. I suggest doing it with curiousity, to see what happens. Just for the fun of it.

So I invite you to play with this - either using Ho'Oponopono or The Process. And see what happens!! Email me the results, joan@joannewcomb.com I'd love to hear from you!

Mental Image Pictures

Mental Image Pictures©2008 by Joan M. Newcomb

Some people believe that when we pop out of out mother we are a blank slate, or a blob of clay to be molded. Not true, we come into this physical experience already filled with information and awareness. Some of this comes from previous lifetimes, but some of it comes from experiences within the womb.

How we encapsulate this information and awareness is in "pictures". We are constantly absorbing pictures from others as well as creating our own. We are veritable galleries of pictures, which influences our perception of the world. We view reality through these pictures, which has the affect of looking at life through a photographic slide. These 'slides' can also be laden with emotion, which colors our feeling experience and can make it difficult to change or move forward.

An obvious example of this is Post Traumatic Stress syndrome. A person has been through a traumatic event in their life, and for years afterwards it continues to plague them whenever something triggers these slides to pop up. Suddenly they're not viewing the reality in front of them, but seeing things from the mental image pictures taken at the time the event occurred. This happens in a less extreme way on an every day level - in new relationships, for example. After the initial honeymoon period has worn off, people start viewing each other through slides of past relationships. The person in front of them no longer looks like the wonderful person they've just fallen in love with, but exactly like their ex-partner! The same thing happens when someone changes jobs or schools or moves to a new area. They feel like they're stuck in the same reality they just left, which isn't true, they just haven't let go of the pictures from their past.

It is possible to de-energize these pictures, so that you can see the world around you the way it really is (or at least from a clearer perspective)! One simple way is to 'reframe' your thoughts. Listen to how you express yourself. Perhaps there's a way to put a more positive spin on it. For example, say you've just changed jobs and you're feeling like the new one is exactly like the old one. Perhaps at the old one you couldn't express a differing opinion or voice a concern. You could 'reframe' your impression of your new workplace as being open and accepting to new ideas. People tend to respond to the pictures you project at them, so if you've viewing them as open and accepting, likely as not they'll behave that way with you. The same applies to relationships. If you have a slide that the women in your life are critical and judgmental (just like your mother was), you'll experience them as critical and judgmental - even if they're not really that way to begin with. Choosing a more positive way of looking at the world may seem simple but can change your life in very powerful ways. It can pull you out of depression (which is a pattern of viewing the world so negatively that it can affect your body chemistry).

It can be helpful to take some quiet time on a regular basis to de-energize pictures. One way to do this is to imagine that you have an energy connection from the lower part of your body (first chakra) to the center of the earth. It can be like one of those trash chutes that older apartment buildings had, going down to the incinerator in the basement. Imagine dropping pictures you want to release down the grounding connection, where they go down to the center of the earth and their energy can be recycled into something new. You can do this even if you're not certain what the pictures are. For instance, perhaps there's something that stops you from experiencing success in your life. You don't have to analyze what it is or where it came from; you can just imagine releasing it down your grounding. If you feel like there's a lot of pictures in your way, you can imagine paper grocery bags full of them, and drop them down your grounding 'trash chute'. Doing this once a day can dramatically change your reality in a very short time!

Things to think about:
Do you have an area of your life that you've been 'spinning your wheels'? Perhaps there are some 'stuck pictures' keeping you from moving forward. Try the grounding game focusing specifically on that area. Every day take a few minutes to sit quietly and imagine a bag full of whatever pictures that may be holding you back on this issue. Imagine the grounding connection, and imagine dropping that bag down it to the center of the earth. Take a deep breath after you've done it, feeling your lungs with oxygen and your space with new, clear energy.

Pictures

©2007 Joan M. Newcomb
From the moment our body is conceived, we start to create energy patterns (our body itself is an energy pattern, too). These energy patterns are visual and emotional, but I still call them pictures, for lack of a better term.

We go through life creating pictures and also reacting through pictures. The most vivid example is of a war veteran with PTSD - he or she amassed a huge amount of pictures from that experience and carries it with them into civilian life. Every time a car backfires or a key word is said (pictures can be audial, too) the pictures come up in front of their eyes and the world transforms back to wartime.

This happens to everyone, but usually on a more subtle or unconscious level. Your partner does something that reminds you of your parent and you have a sudden rush of feeling about it. Your kid starts the school year into a grade that you had problems in, and you have strange reactions for months. You want to move forward in your career but you hit a 'plexiglass wall' keeping you from taking the risk. The pictures you have within your energy field can belong to others as well -- the plexiglass wall could be your father's fear of success that held him back his whole life, or society's "glass ceiling" for example.

There are many ways to consciously deenergize - that is, drain the emotion or the energy - from these pictures. The Emotional Freedom Technique, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Rapid Eye Movement Therapy, to name a few. Some advocate diving into the emotion of it and at the climax of feeling it, declare the Truth that it's an illusion. A clairvoyant technique is to visualize it as a picture, clip the corner of it and drain the emotion from it, then make it disappear (computer types can highlight and delete it).

Life becomes more enjoyable as you clear your backlog of pictures. You start to see things more clearly, react to things less dramatically, feel things more purely. It becomes more comfortable to just Be Here. Your Essential Self is clear, joyful, and neutral all at the same time, and deenergizing pictures helps you get in touch with this True You.

So I invite you to take some time, playfully, and notice whenever you feel discomfort. You don't need to consciously know what the picture is, you can just use one of the above mentioned techniques (you'll have to Google for the websites) or make up one yourself (making up your own technique can be powerful) to deenergize whatever picture is causing you to be out of sorts.

See what happens, and let me know!
