Here in the DC area, they are fireflies every Summer.
My husband grew up in Seattle and had never seen fireflies before. On our evening walks, we watch them pop up, seemingly out of nowhere. They're like fairy fireworks flitting amongst lawns and bushes.
It's been fun sharing one of my favorite things from childhood with him.
Yesterday, we went on our walk later than usual, and they weren't around. I thought maybe it was because the temperatures dropped at night. Then my husband had me look up. There in the trees were flashes of light; all the fireflies were up in the highest branches. It was like Christmas in June!
As a kid, I was never outside that late at night, so I'd never seen them there.
No matter what's going on in your life, whatever the drama or angst in the storyline, Consciousness is constantly reminding you that the world is filled with magic and wonder. It helps being with someone new, but you can always choose to see things with new eyes. You can experience childlike joy in every moment, in everyday places.
This week, take time to see your world differently. You may need to take 1 step to the left or right (it shifts you into a parallel universe, energetically). Or imagine changing invisible 'glasses' so you see the world more clearly (instead of through your old 'slides').
Try this for 7 days and see what happens!
