Pictures

From the moment our body is conceived, we start to create energy patterns (our body itself is an energy pattern, too). These energy patterns are visual and emotional, but I still call them pictures, for lack of a better term.

We go through life creating pictures and also reacting through pictures. The most vivid example is of a war veteran with PTSD - he or she amassed a huge amount of pictures from that experience and carries it with them into civilian life. Every time a car backfires or a key word is said (pictures can be audial, too) the pictures come up in front of their eyes and the world transforms back to wartime.

This happens to everyone, but usually on a more subtle or unconscious level. Your partner does something that reminds you of your parent and you have a sudden rush of feeling about it. Your kid starts the school year into a grade that you had problems in, and you have strange reactions for months. You want to move forward in your career but you hit a 'plexiglass wall' keeping you from taking the risk. The pictures you have within your energy field can belong to others as well -- the plexiglass wall could be your father's fear of success that held him back his whole life, or society's "glass ceiling" for example.

There are many ways to consciously deenergize - that is, drain the emotion or the energy - from these pictures. The Emotional Freedom Technique, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Rapid Eye Movement Therapy, to name a few. Some advocate diving into the emotion of it and at the climax of feeling it, declare the Truth that it's an illusion. A clairvoyant technique is to visualize it as a picture, clip the corner of it and drain the emotion from it, then make it disappear (computer types can highlight and delete it).

Life becomes more enjoyable as you clear your backlog of pictures. You start to see things more clearly, react to things less dramatically, feel things more purely. It becomes more comfortable to just Be Here. Your Essential Self is clear, joyful, and neutral all at the same time, and deenergizing pictures helps you get in touch with this True You.

So I invite you to take some time, playfully, and notice whenever you feel discomfort. You don't need to consciously know what the picture is, you can just use one of the above mentioned techniques (you'll have to Google for the websites) or make up one yourself (making up your own technique can be powerful) to deenergize whatever picture is causing you to be out of sorts.

See what happens, and let me know!
